Founded in 2016 by Tom Sulzer and Christof Schmid, Zurich-based Sulzer Schmid is at the forefront of innovation in the energy service sector. Recognizing the potential for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology to redefine industrial grade inspections, the two entrepreneurs have developed an end-to-end technology platform that produces high-quality rotor blade inspection results with ease – precisely, repeatably, efficiently. To date, we have inspected wind turbines in more than 40 countries worldwide using our 3DX™ technology and each inspection is underpinned by our commitment to the highest quality, efficiency, safety and groundbreaking use of technology.
Since September 2024, Sulzer Schmid is part of RES, the world's leading renewable energy company. This allows us to leverage the vast expertise within RES to create an even more powerful 3DX™ Blade Platform designed to meet the needs of OEMs, owners and operators alike. By integrating our innovative 3DX™ technology, RES expand its extensive O&M capabilities to include autonomous blade inspections and advanced data analytics, meeting customer demands for smart, digital and data driven O&M.
We are offering a paid internship for 3-6 months, that might be combined with a Bachelor or Master’s thesis (not mandatory).
In this internship, you would report directly to our CEO. You are responsible for creating a business case for a new service offering in the field of wind turbine blade inspections. This includes commercial research, definition of possible revenue, proposal of pricing, definition of logistics chain, evaluating ideal field operating partners and evaluation of possible combination with our current service offering.
Bachelor or Master student in business administration or renewable energy
Passion for renewable energy and carbon-neutral power production
Fluency in English, German is an asset
High attention to detail and ability to work independently
